The ACT is a series of tests that assess various aspects of mental ability. They are useful as selection tools in talent recruitment and succession planning, or for feedback in leadership and professional development. Although each test can be administered separately, we recommend that the 3 ACT tests be used together whenever possible to obtain a broader perspective of a candidate’s mental abilities.

ACT-GR is a non-verbal measure of mental ability that makes use of stimuli presented such as patterns and shapes to assess a candidate’s structural logic, abstract problem solving, inductive reasoning, spatial reasoning and pattern recognition.

ACT-NR measures numerical problem solving, inductive reasoning and pattern recognition using numerical data. It requires a basic working knowledge of English in order to understand the questions.

ACT-VR assesses aspects of verbal reasoning including the ability to make inferences, recognizing assumptions, deductions, interpretations and evaluating arguments.
